Pumpkin
Since our home is in Florida, Pumpkin is very fortunate to be able to take long walks along the beach or through the neighborhoods all year around! We also take her to the local dog park to meet and play with other dogs in the area.
Because of the temperature and the humidity we needed to find a harness that would be comfortable, made of light breathable materials, and one that would stay in place even if the dog was running and jumping around.
To avoid the heat, we typically go early in the morning and in the evening. Because of it’s well designed shape, the quality of the material it’s made of and the double safety of the velcro and the locking clip, I found that the Voyager harness is the best dog harness for Pumpkin.
The Voyager Dog Harness is made so that Pumpkin can easily step into it. There are no exposed pieces of material that could harm her, and the stitching is very well made. It has reflectors for when we go out at night, and velcro to easily secure it, plus an extra safety hinge. However, because the Halloween costume we purchased doesn’t have an opening on the back of the neck, we couldn’t feed the leash through. We had to put the harness over her costume. Not ideal but we made it work. Had the costume been more elaborate and had more decorations or items attached it may not have worked. Do your research and find a costume that will allow you to fit it over your dog’s harness or collar and have an opening for the leash.
If you plan to go out at night, try to find a costume with reflectors or maybe even built in lighting. And always remember to bring a flashlight or your (charged) phone and use the flashlight to shine it on your pup to let drivers know there is a dog with you.
